Print-making is Fun!

All year 1 Fine Art students can choose two options out of four, they are Lens Based, Print-making, Sculpture and Painting. What I thought was to choose something I was not familiar with because I should experiment something new to me in the first term. Also, I have never done any print before, and I didn't even know what it was all about before the lesson, that was why I chose Print-making as one of the subject I took.

I did four mono-printings in my first lesson which focused on black-and-white colour and papers as the materials. Those four prints I made was from the same style (papers randomly placed with black-and-white colour), but they look quite different from each other since the lighter ones were the re-print from the upper ones. Also, I changed the position of the paper a bit.
(At first I thought mono-printing means print something with mono colour like black-and-white so I did that.)

I found it really interesting and I had so much fun! It’s because you will never know how your print will look until the final work is completed! Next time I’m gonna try something special and colourful instead!

cropped-cropped-ART-AND-AMY-LOGO-LONG1.jpg
Hi everyone! This is Amy LAI, Yee Shan, this platform is going to be a blog that sharing my contextual researches and findings from different artists, my professional development for my future career and also my contemporary practices with a variety of approaches.
I made my own logo for this blog and named it as “Art & Amy” with a paintbrush on it. I would love to change my “paintbrush” to my “makeup brush” one day, which means I would love to blend my practices into my makeup career later, and this is the main reason why I am here blogging and sharing my observation to you all.
You can now view my CV here.
I hope you will enjoy reading my blog. :-)
