Screen-printing x Paper-cutting

It is always good to prepare something for the print-making lessons. I like paper-cutting, so for the first time I prepared two paper-cuttings for the class, which are two different girls with eye-closed, eye-opened and also different hairstyles. This is how it looked beforehand.

This is the first time for me to do screen-printing as well. The paper-cuttings turned colourful after printing. I used oil pastels to draw something on screen with different styles (Straight lines and circular lines) in a gradual colour change from red to yellow.

Gradual colour changes mean girls are sometimes emotional and fickle, but I think this is somehow a good side instead of bad side. That’s why I chose warm colours to make it positive. Straight lines on the one with eyes opened means the girl knows what she’s thinking, but for the circular lined one has the opposite meaning, which means the girl thinks too much when she closed her eyes. (It can also mean she thinks too much and tends to be negative when she’s alone with her eyes closed.)
Anyway, the colours on the final one printed on papers are reverse.

Another print-making works are coming soon!
